Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania Oct 4, 2024 (Issuewire.com) - An emotional plea has been made by 87-year-old veteran Willard Martz, who is battling cancer and desperately seeking the return of his beloved dog, Lucky.
The 10-year-old male Airedale Terrier mix Lucky was stolen during a carjacking at a Tractor Supply store in Mount Pleasant, Pennsylvania, right outside of Pittsburgh on September 23, 2024 and Lucky was not just a companionhe was one of Mr. Martzs last connections to his late son.
The suspect, Kenneth Crider, was arrested after a high-speed chase in North Carolina on September 28, 2024.
Crider claims he released Lucky at a rest stop somewhere between Myrtle Beach, SC, and Nash County, NC, but the exact location remains unknown.
There have been possible (unconfirmed) sightings of Lucky near Selma, NC, and Nashville, NC, as well as in Baltimore City, MD.
These are in addition to well reports that he was seen on 9/23 at a Walmart in Connellsville, PA.
Lucky could be anywhere, and authorities are urging the public to remain vigilant.
He is a scruffy, dark-colored, medium-to-large sized male dog, wearing a black collar with a flea collar zip-tied to it, and he is microchipped. Lucky may or may not have a red leash, and was reported to weigh around 55 pounds or so.
Mr. Martzs only hope is to have his buddy Lucky safely return.
There is a $5,000 reward for Luckys safe return!
